Monopole is a French term meaning ‘one wine, one vineyard, one producer’ – a monopoly. Restaurant Monopole has a huge focus on wine designed to complement Brent’s food and offer customers a selection not seen before in Sydney.
Carefully compiled by Nick Hildebrandt, co-owner of Monopole and one of Australia’s most influential sommeliers, his list features more than 500 wines from around the world with many that are rare or made with a limited production run and exclusive to Monopole.
In its first year of opening, Monopole was awarded the National ‘Wine List of the Year’ at the Gourmet Traveller Restaurant Guide Awards for 2014, a high accolade.
Many of the wines on the list are organic, bio-dynamic and preservative free, and you’ll find 30 wines by the glass or carafe, perfect if you’re keen to sample a few different wines which we’re confident you will want to.
